5-Day Proposals Part 2

The overwhelming response from yesterday’s email Your proposal should be taken, not read” has me thinking I should to respond to the group at large.

Instead of putting all the pressure on your initial call with your prospect, you might consider giving both you and your potential client the week betwen your initial call and presenting your proposal live to see if you’re a good fit.

If you don’t prefer to schedule a second call, your email sequence at least saves you from following up with messaging that does not add value to either your business or theirs.

And here’s how:

Consider putting your proposal in a Google doc that gives your prospect “editor access.”

BONUS: You can create your 5-day email sequence directly from the doc by clicking on “Insert” → Building Blocks→ Email Draft

When gmail opens, click the down arrow next to the “send” button and you can schedule the days and times of all your emails, including the reminder to attend the final proposal session.

The goal with each email is to phrase each day’s question in a way that allows them to voice their objection or to get them to write down what might be holding them back from buying.

The other goal is to build up the anticipation of what it’s like to work with you.

Giving them the space to express what they really want in writing – rather than to your face  – could go a long way toward letting some of that energy bubble up.

IOW, they’re far better suited to amp themselves up than you are 👍

The Golden Rule is to make sure that as many of their answers are in your proposal as possible. So you’ll want to do a quick revision either before your session or even on the call itself..

Yup, it might be even better having them watch you put their words in.

This way, they truly “own it.”  And by doing so, they’ve acknowledged that they have a part in the collaboration they’re about to enter into.

You can check out the full 5-day sequence here

DAY 1

Subject line: [DAY 1 OF 5] of Your Proposal: What’s missing? (response needed)

Hey [FIRST NAME], thanks so much for being so generous with your time on [DATE/TIME]

Over the next 5 days, we’ll tweak your proposal collaboratively so that by the time we hop on our call on [DATE/TIME], you’ll not only have the clearest picture possible of the goals you hope to achieve, but also how you like to work and what you need from us to get there.

I’ll answer any questions during the week and come prepared with your new proposal that we’ll continue to tweak together on the call.

100% Time-Back Guarantee: You may take your proposal to any of our competitors that you feel would be a better fit – no questions asked with zero pressure, zero obligation to buy and zero unsolicited emails or contact. These emails put the ball entirely in your court for you to contact us on your terms, anytime 🙂

That’s how much we want to make sure we’re the right fit, that you get everything you want and that you’re over the moon satisfied should you choose to work with us.

Here’s today’s question:

Of the 3 Options, which one feels the closest to getting you to your ideal outcome?

What’s missing?

What would you add?

Consider taking no more than 3 minutes to write down your response and ask any questions that arise either in the proposal or in your reply to this email.

Your proposal is in a Google Doc so that all of your changes are saved automatically.

If you do find that you liked an earlier version, simply click on the “clock” icon at the top rightand choose “restore original version.”

I’m here,

Your Name
