Delaying your kickoff until your client fills out your intake form could cost you a good working relationship, profits, and even the sale you worked so hard for.
Instead of waiting to get what you need from the client so that you can begin work
You might:
1_Schedule your kickoff at least a week out
2_Email one question per day per kickoff participant
Never, ever, ever “cc”. People only reply if they’re the only ones on the email.
3_Give them a time limit of no more than 3 minutes per question
4_Keep up your question-per-day, every day, except for the day before
5_The day before, send an agenda instead – whose purpose is to dive deeper into the questions
6_End the meeting 5 minutes early
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. I’ve been calling this template the Client Tamer Agenda. And these, the Client Tamer Emails
WARNING: Using this type of “non-form questionnaire” may – and almost always will – result in:
- Your questions gettting answered
- Near-100% attendance at your kickoff
- Your agenda getting followed
- Your project kicking off
And if you continue sending questions, your project: - Ending on time, on budget, with super happy clients*
*it has seriously never not worked out for me – reply and we’ll walk through it together
