When you market yourself consistently, your mistakes become stories of your resilience.
I sent out a somewhat sensitive email last week
About my depression
Which my wife read and brought up that afternoon as we were walking the dog:
Kev, are you sure you should talk about that kind of thing?
And I told her that I actually did feel a little uneasy about it
But that’s the beauty of putting out your message consistently
See if this helps:
When you wait to send out the
One. Big. Email.
To your subscribers
You can feel the heaviness of putting so much
Into one fairly insignificant thing.
But if you’ve got a strong habit going
The most powerful thing you can do
(And the most comforting)
Is resting in the confidence that you’ll show up the next day
And try again.
I think of it almost like sending out 2 emails:
One actual email
And another one that says
I’m (still) here,
Kevin
P.S. My mom responded to that day’s email with, “Oy, Kevvy – how will I know you’re ok?” And I replied, “Mommella, you’ll know because you’ll get another email from me tomorrow π
