It’s true in sales that the minute you start wanting something, you’ve lost the sale.
Every sales coach I’ve ever had
Has imparted this wisdom in some form or another:
You have to NOT want the sale.
Do no harm.
Don’t appear desperate.
Your prospect can smell it from a mile away.
See if this helps:
No matter how hard I tried
I ALWAYS wanted the sale
You know, to feed my family
But when I set up my sales calls so that I was forced to deliver something of value
Or face being viewed as a fraud
There was no space left in my head to think about selling anything.
And all of a sudden my hidden
And not so hidden agendas
Disappeared.
I’m here,
Kevin
