If you don’t set expectations, your clients won’t know when they’ve won.
I’m 26 and I’m driving from L.A. to Texas when I decide to stop in Vegas.
I pull over to a payphone
I was 26 a loooooong time ago
And call my Aunt Doris.
Aunt Doris is a compulsive gambler
And one of the few people who should be.
All I say is: Aunt Dot, I’m in Vegas:
AUNT DOT (WITHOUT HESITATION): Go see Jack at the Pink Flamingo
Tell him you’re my nephew.
He will hand you an envelope with $100 in it
And direct you to the Blazing 7’s slot machines
Within 20 minutes you should win about $1,000.
I do as I’m told only I win $300 in 10 minutes
And keep playing to try and win the $700 that I still have coming to me
Until I lose it all.
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. Moral of the story: Set expectations and then make sure your clients know when they’ve won.
P.P.S. 26 will forever be known as The Age of Stupidity 🤑
