7-Second Thoughts May 3, 2023

Use ChatGPT to write, but …

If you let ChatGPT have the last word, you’ll sound no different than your competitors.

If you want to start a draft of your homepage

Or an email to your newsletter subscribers

But fear the blank page

We all do in varying degrees

Using something like ChatGPT can get you started

But please know that whatever it comes up with

Is simply a head start

Or the following 3 metaphors:

  1. A burst of momentum
  2. A push in the right direction
  3. The first leg of the race

That you must finish.

Regardless of the magical words that A.I. conjures up

Use them as a cue to keep asking yourself

Or the software

More questions

To ultimately come up with words

That make your prospect think:

Damn, it’s like this person’s using A.I. to crawl into my head

And it’s true, you are.

But here’s the thing:

If you use the first thing ChatGPT comes up with

Without doing any writing of your own

Your prospect won’t see themselves

Because ChatGPT doesn’t know your prospect like you do.

I’m here,

Kevin

P.S. I’m now using ChatGPT to help people write the first drafts of their email newsletters so they can finish faster and write more insightful business words laser-focused on their prospect. Wild stuff, for sure. Reply here if you’d like to learn more.
