Are the words your prospect has to get through – just to get through to you.
Think about that sidebar on LinkedIn
The one on the right that has people direct messaging you
All day and all night
I’m looking at mine right now:
Hey Kevin, I’m thrilled to share …
Hey Kevin, I’m reaching out one last …
As an online health and fitness coach…
Hi Kevin, Thank you for being connect…
Kevin! Hey There! I’m thrilled to share…
Hi Kevin! I hope you’re doing well. I’m …
Hey Kevin, I hope you’re having a good day! I’m…
Hello Kevin, I hope you are doing we…
Hey Kevin, thank you for connecting. Nice to mee…

Something to consider:
Whether it’s DM’ing your prospect on LinkedIn
Or in a subject line
You will never have your prospect’s undivided attention
Until you make it through the gauntlet of myriad other subject lines
The good news is:
The bar is low.
Ohmygodisitlow
See if this helps:
Pack your LinkedIn DMs and Email Subject lines as if your life depends on those first 7 words
It sounds like a lot of pressure.
It is not.
Because now that you know what will absolutely NOT be opened
It’s just a matter
Of playing with words
Until you find some
That get your prospect
To stop.
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. Here are the first 7 words (the only words my prospects care about) of the latest direct message campaign I’m running on LinkedIn (with a 28% response rate): Hey, totally ok to say no but I’m starting a sup…
