I need those prospects you hold in your pocket like so many nickels and dimes. ~ Solozzo to Don Corleone in “The Godfather”*
Pardon me, I don’t mean to be rude,
i’d love to know about your family
Your hobbies
Your interests
But really
When we’re together on a sales call
I’m out for one thing:
The Words
Specifically, the words
That state the problem
Your prospect is facing
And what you do to solve it.
I could spend hours and hours
Trying to write them myself
And never come up with
The way your prospect would say it
Because I will never know them
As well as you do.
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. Apologies in advance if I skip the pleasantries and jump immediately into, “So, what does your prospect want?” So that by the end of our call, even if we never speak again, you will have the first 7 seconds of your website.
P.P.S. Call it what you want, but I do believe it’s an offer you can’t refuse ????
*Slight paraphrase. In the actual movie, Solozzo wants Don Corleone’s “politicians.” I’ll settle for just the words. Capisce?
