Pop-up’s aren’t the worst way to capture an email.
But if your pop-up ad
Pops up on your homepage
And swings and misses
Or gets swatted away like an annoyingly little gnat
Then you’re left with a prospect you just met
Who’s already a little bit distracted
And perhaps more than a little bit annoyed.
Just a thought:
What if you shrunk your pop-up down
Probably should’ve been the subject line of this email 🤬
And made it the first 7 seconds of your website
So that you’re essentially removing the bet you’ve placed on your pop-up
And instead
Pushed all of your chips into a headline that says
In about as many words:
This is as much as I think you need to know in the first 7 seconds to sign up for my email newsletter.
And then don’t put anything else
Between those words
And your prospect’s eyeballs
Until they get to the big button that allows your prospect to
SIGN UP FOR THIS HERE EMAIL NEWSLETTER
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. Tomorrow: That button better be good 🤣
