Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. ~ Max Ehrmann from his poem “The Desiderata,” 1927
I’ve seen too many friends and relatives, my dad no less, go through a career they did not enjoy.
Hate is not too strong a word
Most of the people I’ve watched go through this “means to an end” existence
Have retired
Or are on the way to retiring
With plenty of money.
But …
The vast majority did not look back on their career with any kind of fondness
More like thankgodthatsover
But here’s the thing:
Being interested in your career is not to be overlooked
It’s your life!
You spend more time in it, rents more space in your brain, than anything else
Including thoughts about your own family
At least if you’re a business owner it does
I want this for you:
Change careers, stay in the one you’ve got, doesn’t matter.
Just stay interested
And here’s why:
If you’re interested, your prospects and clients will be too.
You’ll spend less time marketing, less time selling, less time “working”
And make far more money, in much less time
Enough to retire early or …
Not want to retire at all.
I’m here,
Kevin
P.S. Help is coming in about a month. Just putting you – and myself – on notice.
