Starting your emails with “Hey, [FIRST NAME],” makes your marketing sound like marketing.
If you look through your own emails
From people you trust
Friends, family, loved ones
I think you’ll find that nary a one of them begins with:
Hey, [First Name]
It’s more like:
K-dog! K-man! The Kevs! K-diddy! Special K!
Or in the case of a certain older brother:
Moron!
Here’s the thing:
Not knowing any of your prospect’s nicknames
Or put-downs
Puts the onus on you
To write words that are so laser-focused
On your prospect’s problem
Their business
And how you can help them
That they feel
Like you know them by name.
